  • I'm pleased to say 47292 performed almost faultlessly and sounded great on The Tayside Liner, the only incident marring its day was north of Penrith when its first fuel tank ran out and the engine shut down as it had not started receiving fuel from its second fuel tank.
    A fitter on board who is a member of the     Brush Type 4 Fund was able to fix the problem with just over a 20 minute delay. You know who you are, thanks very much!

    This was Compass Tours postponed tour from July 12th, and we at Compass Tours would like to thank all of you who supported us and stuck with us after the unfortunate and untimely postponement forced upon is in July.
    I'd also like to thank all of the stewards, especially Nick Scott and Steve Kibble, who along with myself and the train planner - Kevin Melia, put in a lot of effort to ensure the day ran smoothly, and the people at the West Coast Railway Company and SK Catering.
    A special thankyou also to Barney whose hard work kept the train clean. The half-brake was full of bin bags by Crewe on the return!

    'The Tayside Liner' headboard was carried on 5Z71 Carnforth-Crewe on Friday, and also 1Z71 and 1Z22 throughout on Saturday. On arrival at Crewe it was removed and will be auctioned with the proceeds raised going to The Stratford 47 Group.
