Non-PSV conversions

The Optare Excel has become an increasingly popular choice for non-public service vehicle conversions thanks to reasonable second hand prices coupled with their low floor which not only helps a larger audience access the vehicles but also provides a large flat area after the front wheelarches for fittings to be added, similar reasonable area towards the rear of the bus with only a very minimal intrusion from the rear wheels in to the higher section of the passenger saloon towards the back of the vehicle.
So far the following Excels have been converted;

Series 2 Non-PSV build

NY03JJF was built as a Playbus for Middlesborough and was not converted from a PSV vehicle.
YJ54BTO was built as a non PSV vehicle as a mobile testing centre.
YJ54BTU was built as a non PSV vehicle as a mobile testing centre.
