47813 has worked the 1630 London-Norwich from an unknown point, the train departed London on time but was 40 minutes late by the time it arrived at Colchester. It was 43 minutes late from Ipswich, 46 late from Stowmarket, 50 late from Diss and 47 late into Norwich at 1907.

Some of you may have noticed 'Crumb's name has appeared in the 'news page edited by...' box at the top of the page alongside mine. Coinciding with the website changes in the new year he now helps with editing of news, though I will still be dealing with email contributions. Crumb is a long-term 47 follower and has been a regular contributor to sulzerpower.com over the past few years.

Press release from the Stratford 47 Group/Mid Norfolk Railway:
Mid-Norfolk Railway to hold Stratford 47 Gala Day – 'Two Counties in Norfolk'.
In conjunction with the Stratford Class 47 Group, the MNR will be holding a class 47 running day on Saturday 28th February. Five return trips between Dereham and Wymondham will feature over 100 miles of ex-Stratford loco haulage.
In addition to the Model Rail Day being held at Dereham High School, an enhanced train service will be operated featuring both of the SF47 group's class 47 locomotives [present at the railway] 47580 and 47596.
This may be the only opportunity to sample haulage behind both ex-Stratford class 47s [together at the railway] as 47580 'County of Essex' will be returning to Tyseley and 47596 will undergo a top-end engine overhaul after the weekend.
The gala day will feature; five round trips of over 100 miles of class 47 haulage, top and tail 47 haulage, double headed locomotives, real ale on board, refreshment service of hot and cold snacks will be available in the buffet car, and the model Rail exhibition at Dereham.

On the 02/01/09 news lower down this page there is mention of 50 47s that hauled passenger trains in 2008, this is not so as 47192 did not work a passenger working, so the revised total is 49.
